The display is at its best on the first flush: once the leaves mature, the plant becomes more discreet, then regains interest late in the season with its yellow autumn color. To preserve foliage quality and limit stress on the lighter areas, morning sun with light afternoon shade is preferable in hot climates or on drying soils.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"2759\" data-end=\"2781\">Origin &amp; history<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"2783\" data-end=\"3267\" class=\"translation-block\">\u2018Puget Pink\u2019 is linked to Heronswood Nursery (Kingston, Washington), near Puget Sound, which introduced it in its catalogues in the mid-1990s. It is a seedling of \u2018Prinz Handjery\u2019.\nThe term \u201cPuget Pink Group\u201d is also encountered: at Heronswood, it was long distributed as very similar seedlings (\u201cnearly true\u201d), while the name \u2018Puget Pink\u2019 applies to the original clone (and grafted plants derived from it).<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u2018Puget Pink\u2019 is a rare sycamore maple, prized for its exceptionally bright pink spring flush (\u201csalmon \/ shrimp\u201d tones).
