The foliage is often slightly wavy\/crinkled, which enhances the texture effect. It is a superb variety, but it benefits from careful siting (gentle light, protection from drying winds) to keep the foliage clean.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1229\" data-end=\"1241\">Colours<\/h3>\n<ul data-start=\"1243\" data-end=\"1555\">\n<li data-start=\"1243\" data-end=\"1345\">\n<p data-start=\"1245\" data-end=\"1345\"><strong>Spring<\/strong> : very luminous salmon-pink budbreak, mixed with lime green and cream.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1346\" data-end=\"1438\">\n<p data-start=\"1348\" data-end=\"1438\"><strong>Summer<\/strong> : the pink fades (soft pink), while the cream\/green variegation remains clearly visible.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1439\" data-end=\"1555\">\n<p data-start=\"1441\" data-end=\"1555\"><strong>Autumn<\/strong> : return of lime \/ yellow-green tones (sometimes with pinkish nuances depending on shoots and conditions).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-start=\"1557\" data-end=\"1575\">Habit &amp; vigour<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1577\" data-end=\"1720\">Generally compact habit; often described as upright (sometimes fastigiate depending on training), with slow to moderate growth.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1722\" data-end=\"1748\">Indicative size<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1750\" data-end=\"1806\">Observed orders of magnitude depending on sources and training:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1808\" data-end=\"1973\">\n<li data-start=\"1808\" data-end=\"1866\">\n<p data-start=\"1810\" data-end=\"1866\">around 2 m at about 10 years is frequently indicated,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1867\" data-end=\"1973\">\n<p data-start=\"1869\" data-end=\"1973\">some references give an adult potential of about 2 to 4 m (depending on soil, climate, age and training).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-start=\"1975\" data-end=\"1989\">Exposure<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1991\" data-end=\"2386\">Bright partial shade is recommended, or gentle morning sun.
