Character & interest<\/h3>\n

\u2018Oridono nishiki\u2019 stands out for its changing variegation: some leaves emerge more tender green, then gradually become marked with pink and white, sometimes as speckling or irregular patches. The effect is very graphic, and each shoot can have its own \u201cpattern\u201d, which makes the cultivar especially lively.<\/p>\n

Growing tip (general for variegated cultivars): if a branch comes out completely green (without variegation), it can be removed to preserve the variegated look.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

    \u2018Oridono nishiki\u2019 is a very refined variegated Japanese maple: the foliage mixes green, pink and white, with an effect that is often most spectacular in summer. The plant forms a rather upright, dense subject, and its young shoots can be red to pinkish (sometimes striped). In autumn, the foliage often goes through a luminous golden stage before deeper red tones.
