The leaves are very tightly packed, overlapping to form tiers that remain decorative all season. It\u2019s also an excellent choice if you want a very compact maple without losing the \u201csmall tree\u201d effect.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1158\" data-end=\"1180\">Colours<\/h3>\n<ul data-start=\"1182\" data-end=\"1360\">\n<li data-start=\"1182\" data-end=\"1244\">\n<p data-start=\"1184\" data-end=\"1244\"><strong>Spring<\/strong> : pale yellow-green to soft green foliage.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1245\" data-end=\"1289\">\n<p data-start=\"1247\" data-end=\"1289\"><strong>Summer<\/strong> : bright green (often luminous).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1290\" data-end=\"1360\">\n<p data-start=\"1292\" data-end=\"1360\"><strong>Autumn<\/strong> : orange, gold and red (often multicoloured).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 data-start=\"1362\" data-end=\"1380\">Habit &amp; vigour<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1382\" data-end=\"1494\">Dwarf habit, very well branched, slow growth. Naturally dense silhouette, easy to keep contained in a container.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1496\" data-end=\"1522\">Indicative size<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1524\" data-end=\"1786\">Order of magnitude: often around 1 to 1.2 m (or a little more) in some horticultural references, but you also find plants listed closer to 1.5 to 2 m (sometimes more with age in the ground). In a pot, it generally stays smaller.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"1788\" data-end=\"1811\">Exposure<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1813\" data-end=\"2079\">Bright partial shade or gentle sun.
