‘Elmwood’ is a very original Japanese maple from the reticulated variegates group: in spring, its leaves show a lime-green to pinkish/cream background crossed by very pronounced dark green veins, creating a particularly decorative “wood-grain” effect. ‘Emmett’s Pumpkin’ is a spectacular Acer japonicum, prized for the size of its leaves and its “pumpkin-like” autumn colouring: large leaves turning deep orange with red highlights. In spring, the foliage emerges yellow-green with a bronze/russet veil, then becomes a more uniform green in summer. A superb accent small tree for anyone looking for a “full moon” type maple with a strongly marked end-of-season display.

‘Esk Sunset’ is a rare sycamore maple grown for its constantly shifting variegated foliage and its purple leaf undersides. At budbreak, the variegation can be quite subtle: new leaves often emerge orange-pink / bronze, then the cream (and pink) marbling becomes clearer and stronger as the leaves expand. As the season progresses, the foliage turns deeper green, splashed and marbled with cream (often with lingering pink/tan tones), while the undersides develop a rich purple to reddish-purple. With backlighting or when the wind flips the leaves, this contrast can create a spectacular rosy glow through translucency.

‘Ever Autumn’ is an original hybrid that very early on gives the impression of foliage already showing “autumn tones”. In spring, its large leaves appear green with shades of pink/orange/red, then the tree often keeps a warm hue all summer before a final orange to red display in autumn. Its upright habit and good sun tolerance (in consistently moist soil) make it an excellent choice for a focal point, including in brighter situations than the average Japanese maple.

‘Ezo no o momiji’ is an Acer shirasawanum (full moon maple) appreciated for its large leaves and its very luminous late-season display. The foliage opens a soft green in spring, deepens to dark green in summer (often with a slightly rougher texture), then turns golden yellow, orange and sometimes red in autumn. An elegant choice as a specimen or in a bright partial-shade planting, with a particularly strong effect against a dark background.

‘Fairy Hair’ is a very unusual Japanese maple from the Linearilobum group, famous for its incredibly narrow leaves, like needles or threads. The foliage is green from spring through summer on an airy, light silhouette, then takes on autumn shades that are often orange to red (variable depending on conditions). A collector cultivar, spectacular in a pot.

‘Fall Red Tips’ is a Japanese maple with very bright green foliage at budbreak, often chartreuse with a fine purplish margin. In summer, it turns a true green, then offers an original autumn display: the leaves first turn golden yellow, then develop red tips along the edges of the lobes (“red tips” effect), and may sometimes shift towards a stronger red. A fresh-looking, changeable cultivar, well suited to small gardens and container growing.

It is remarkable in spring for its pale variegation and a “veined / reticulated” effect (a light background crossed by darker veins). In summer, the foliage often becomes greener, and autumn brings yellow to orange tones. A slow-growing, compact cultivar, superb in a pot and in a small garden.

‘Fireglow’ is a red Japanese maple with an upright habit, appreciated for the stability of its colour: it starts pink-red in spring, becomes burgundy / dark red in summer (often with good colour hold in hot conditions), then lights up again in bright red in autumn. Its name comes from the spectacular backlit effect, when the leaves seem to “glow”.

‘First Ghost’ is a reticulated Japanese maple: a very pale leaf blade (creamy white to soft yellow) crossed by dark green veins, often highlighted by a pink to purplish-red margin in spring. In summer, the contrast softens toward greener tones, then autumn returns with golden yellow to orange shades. Semi-weeping, elegant habit, suitable both in containers and in the ground.
