• At maturity: Can reach 3.5 m to 4 m in height when planted in the ground.

Exposure

Bright partial shade. A position sheltered from the scorching afternoon sun is recommended to preserve the intensity of the red tips in spring and prevent leaf tip scorch.

This cultivar is an ancient horticultural selection from Japan. Its name pays tribute to the Chūgū-ji Temple in Nara Prefecture, highlighting its historical link with the traditional aesthetics of Japanese temple gardens.
